Is anyone else glad that the radical left-wingers like MoveOn.org and Daily Kos are losing power?

Back in 2007, MoveOn.org and John Edwards championed a boycott of FOX News, since any democrat going on the program would lend it legitimacy. And just this last month, both Clinton and Obama broke that boycott by appearing on The O'reilly Factor and FOX News Sunday respectively. And this was after Hillary (rightfully) trashed MoveOn and Daily Kos for being champions of smear attacks, hate-mongering, and intimidation. The leftist activists, naturally, were not pleased.

Having said that, does anyone else see this as a good development? I don't want to see the radicals at MoveOn.org setting the tone for America. And I think anyone being backed up by these folks is doomed to failure. After all, the radical left-wingers behind MoveOn failed to get an unpopular Bush kicked out of office in 2004. And we already see what a bangup job they did for Edwards this year. I think the American people are also tired of BS like Daily Kos and MoveOn activism.Is anyone else glad that the radical left-wingers like MoveOn.org and Daily Kos are losing power?
MoveOn and Daily Kos are gaining power, not losing it. And it will get worse if Obama is nominated.

Anyone who doesn't think these guys are champions of smear attacks need only recall the words ';General Betray Us';Is anyone else glad that the radical left-wingers like MoveOn.org and Daily Kos are losing power?
I see what you mean. If the Democratic Party functional ceases to exist, then the power of left wing groups becomes null and void.

Yes I think you may be right, the era of the oldest political party in America may be over.
Moveon.org is still very strong. The Clintons are putting out the propaganda that they are not, because they are not supporting her.

(any thumbs downs represent the anger of the Clinton supporters. hahahahahah)
YES
What power?
Yes, these evildoers should be on the FBI watch list
No.
If they were I would be sad., and not glad But they aren't
yes, those kooks are Not good for my party.

extremist are never a good thing
1. No, I'm not.

2. No, they're not.

Your opinion of MoveOn and Daily Kos has obviously been formed exclusively by Bill O'Reilly, and it doesn't square with the facts. MoveOn is simply a grassroots organization set up to support certain political issues. It is no different than the NRA or the AMA in that regard. You don't have to agree with their positions, of course, but please at least be factual in writing about them. They definitely do not champion smear attacks, hate-mongering or intimidation. You could look at their website yourself and you would see what I mean.

How many more polls would Obama drop below 50% using Rush's & Daily Kos admitted tactic 2 keep him above 50%?

It was almost undoubtedly coincidental, but a sequence of events occurring over the past few days has put quite a bit of egg on the face of the most venerable pollster in the game: Gallup. Apparently, Rush Limbaugh decided recently to mix his polling analysis with a little racist speculation:

';Gallup has it [Obama's job approval] just teetering there on the

little teeter-totter at 50%, and they're doing everything they can,

they're upping the sample of black Americans, to keep him at 50% in

the Gallup poll.';

This, of course, is an incredibly serious accusation, and it led to a sharp denial from Gallup polling head Frank Newport on Thursday. But what happened on Friday? Gallup's tracking poll broke the barrier and found Obama at 49%. No word on how many seconds into his broadcast it took for Limbaugh to claim the credit and proclaim his infallibility.

Watch for Obama to start treating Gallop with the same bad treatment as Fox as punishment for reporting the truth.How many more polls would Obama drop below 50% using Rush's %26amp; Daily Kos admitted tactic 2 keep him above 50%?
approval polls don't really matter for the most part, basically they matter leading up to election day...look at clinton, re-elected with 40% approval...that should put a scare in you.
interesting since I have never been polled.

After 3 polls by Rassmusen showing Toomey beating Spector the Daily Kos does 3 polls showing Spector winning?

Reading between the lines on this one can see the Far Far Farthest Left website the Daily Kos is doing damage control to try to prop up an image that Spector is not in trouble of getting kicked to the curb when in fact he really is. It also shows desperation on the part of the Daily Kos to do anything to try to ensure Judas Spector wins so he can become the new Far Left poster boy.

I hope Spector is kicked to the curb.. he is a fool and an opportunist.. he would switch to the Nazi party if he thought it would keep him in the seante.. he could care less about the country.After 3 polls by Rassmusen showing Toomey beating Spector the Daily Kos does 3 polls showing Spector winning?
Why doesn't it ever occur to you guys that the Rasmussen polls are always 5-10 points different from other polls, always favoring the Republicans?

And perhaps you didn't notice that the separate polls were comparing *three different* races--Specter v. Toomey, Specter v. Sestak and Sestak v. Toomey.
So, what you're really saying is that it took 3 polls to finally get the result Rasmussen wanted...that doesn't suprise me at all.
I'm voting for Sestak in the primaries anyway. Specter is a flipping flopping opportunist.

How often do all House Republicans (plus about 100 Dems) plus the Daily Kos agree on a bill? HR 1207 S 604?

These bills would require a REAL audit of the Fed, even the parts current law forbids Congress from reviewing.

Here are a few excerpts from the article by a guy who refers to my sort of person as a 'Ron Paul wingnut' -- first he recognizes it is disturbing that Goldman Sachs, sitting at the center of the banking controversy, and a prime donor to Obama will clean up with carbon credits in cap and trade, then says:

';Basically, the thesis is that the Federal reserve has handed out over 8.7 trillion of our money since last October alone, and we're not even allowed to ask who it went to. In fact no one, including Barack Obama, knows where it went. Because it's a secret society. Made of bankers and lizard people. As the video makes quite clear, this is problematic politically for Obama, because he wants to give reserve full regulatory powers to restructure the financial industry.

So, yeah, Mr. President, Mr. Summers, I'm a little concerned.

Then we find out about this effort by the democrats in Congress, diaried here to kill the legislation [ S 604 the Senate version of the Audit the Fed Bill ] to find out where that money went. No doubt with the President's support. Having just seen the video above [ http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090720/fe… ] 24 hours prior to this happening, yeah.

You could say I'm a little bit ashamed to be a democrat.

Proud of Bernie Sanders, though. If he agrees with Ron Paul on this one, it must be bigger than any political party.';

What do you think?How often do all House Republicans (plus about 100 Dems) plus the Daily Kos agree on a bill? HR 1207 S 604?
I agree with it as well. I hope it passes in the House and Senate by big enough majorities that Obama has no choice but to sign it or have his veto overturned.

The Feds and the big banks are spending a lot of money on lobbyists to defeat this.How often do all House Republicans (plus about 100 Dems) plus the Daily Kos agree on a bill? HR 1207 S 604?
';No doubt with the President's support'; you lost all credibility with that assumption, then you compound it by saying ';all house republicans'; are onboard. That's patently false.

It's a good idea, but why do you have to lie and exaggerate and make unsubstantiated claims to try to prove your point?
It is now beyond obvious that the Federal Reserve needs to go. It's fantastic that it is even receiving some criticism from the opposite side of the isle now. And it is much more than a partisan issue.

Barney Frank (D) once said,

“If you take the principles that people are talking about nowadays, such as reforming government and opening up government — the Fed violates it more than any other branch of government.”

And Dick Durbin (D) once said,

';And the banks -- hard to believe in a time when we're facing a banking crisis that many of the banks created -- are still the most powerful lobby on Capitol Hill. And they frankly own the place.';

What DOES it SAY when EVEN the FAR LEFT DAILY KOS REALIZE THAT IF Obama's HEALTH FARE FAILS Obama is GIMPED?

Taken word for word from the Far Left Daily Kos:

Even the GOP wingnut congress gets it: if they break Obama's Health Care Reform initiative, if they break up our coalition, then they've broke his presidency. Just like they did to Clinton. They don't CARE about the polls. Those aren't polls of their redneck-Red Alabama districts. They don't care about the health of the American people. All they care about is politics, about destroying any chance we have at Universal Health Care so that they can weaken Obama's hand.

If you don't remember what happened to Bill Clinton, let me remind you: he came in with a mandate to reform health care. The GOP changed the subject to teh gayz in teh military. The Village played into the GOP's hand, repeating their messages. Bill Clinton took major wounds, his presidency was gimped, and we had 7 years of incrementalism and rear guard actions after that.

Chuckles Loudly :DWhat DOES it SAY when EVEN the FAR LEFT DAILY KOS REALIZE THAT IF Obama's HEALTH FARE FAILS Obama is GIMPED?
Sounds like do or die for himWhat DOES it SAY when EVEN the FAR LEFT DAILY KOS REALIZE THAT IF Obama's HEALTH FARE FAILS Obama is GIMPED?
I remember that the Health Care deal was in Clinton's first term and that he still got reelected, getting almost 10% more of the popular vote than Dole.

I would reject your claim that Clinton had any mandate to reform health care, he only got 43% of the popular vote, Bush and Perot got 57%. The rest of your comments are also dubious.
I'm glad you are admitting the right's tactics, when they want attention, they bring out the gay issue and it is true, the right certainly doesn't care about the health of the American people. Why are you proud of that?
He sounds a bit scared, which makes me smile...

(And it was Hillarycare)

In the words of the FAR LEFT DAILY KOS if Obama's PLAN FAILS WILL IT be at the HANDS OF BLUE DOG DEMOCRATS?

The Democrats have a chance to accomplish goals they’ve dreamed about since the New Deal. They have 60 seats in the Senate, and a commanding advantage in the House of Representatives. So if they fail to pass certain legislation, Republicans won’t be to blame; Democrats will.

* potentate172000's diary :: ::

This is particularly true for healthcare reform. Blue dog Mike Ross of Arkansas wrote ';the Blue Dogs are committed to passing health-care reform. However, reform that does not meet the President's goals of substantially bringing down costs is not an option.'; In the Senate, moderates like Evan Bayh, Mary Landrieu, and Kent Conrad are wary of providing a public option, or voting for such a large bill.

Many of these Democrats have already expressed reservation about spending in the past few months. Bayh for his part said Obama’s first budget ';represents an improvement from years past ... [because] money we will borrow will fund important priorities like affordable health care, energy independence, job creation, and education improvements, rather than tax cuts for the most affluent.'; But Bayh could not support it because ';under this budget, our national debt skyrockets from $11.1 trillion today to an estimated $17 trillion in 2014.';

Early on, there was even some Democratic opposition to the stimulus. Eleven Democrats (including six blue dogs) voted against the final bill citing concerns over cost. These concerns have become a recurrent theme as congress contemplated various spending measures.

With a huge deficit already, it’s difficult not to share their reservations about adding still more. Their concerns were bolstered last week when the CBO said the House bill would $230 billion to the budget deficit over 10 years.

Of course there are political calculations at play as well. Many of the Democrats raising concerns come from conservative districts and states that voted for McCain last fall. Their conservative-leaning constituents are concerned about the deficit. Voting for such a large bill could give their opponents an issue to use against them in the 2010 midterm elections.

For its part, the Democratic leadership is in a bind. They can try and cajole these Democrats into voting for the health reform bill by threatening to withhold pork or fundraising. But failing to support Democrats in these vulnerable districts could cause the election of a conservative Republican. Perhaps it’s better to have a Democrat with you 80% of the time, than a Republican who’s never with you, the leadership will reason.

This is not an insignificant development. Blue Dogs hold 52 seats in the Democratic caucus. Moderate Democrats hold the balance of power in the Senate. If even one moderate votes to allow a filibuster, then the Democrats cannot invoke cloture. Something tells me that the Democratic leadership will end up making substantial concessions to this group to keep them all on board.

    That's a good play on Ahmadinejad's name, but the great majority of Daily Kos contributors do not admire him.
