Do websites like the Huffington Post and Daily Kos hurt the liberal faction with independents?

40% of U.S. citizens consider themselves conservatives.

35% are moderates.

But only 21% are liberals.

Not really, because independents don't read Huffington Post. Really, only those on extremes of left and right do- for talking points/ammunition respectively.Do websites like the Huffington Post and Daily Kos hurt the liberal faction with independents?
No, because it is outweighed by rightwing websites.

Edit. As an example here are some comments from Free republic on Malia Obama , which far outweigh anything found on Kos of Huffington.

';A typical street whore.'; ';A bunch of ghetto thugs.'; ';Ghetto street trash.'; ';Wonder when she will get her first abortion.';
Not really because anyone with a grain of sense, who is independent, should be able to decipher the jargon. If you don't have a fair and balanced newspaper, then you are left with FoxNews and we've seen how accurate they are.

Just because it's printed, doesn't mean it's always right. It doesn't give you the whole picture, you are left to fill in the blanks.
