He's an American citizen born in this country.

The point is that he released the information and the unfounded rumor is put to rest.








Anyways, the reason he probably gave it to KOS in the first place is as a favor, because Moulitsas has continually denied the rumor about Obama's birth certificate. And, whoever releases a story first in the media receives a special priveledge. So, most likely Obama was rewarding them for not spreading the rumor further.





Why would he reward media outlets that have been perpetuating the rumor?

The answer is simple - DailyKos was the first to actually ask for the birth certificate and the Obama campaign supplied it. The rightwing smear attempt to say Obama isn't really an American wasn't taken seriously by any of the major news services, so they didn't bother.

As far as I know, he didn't give it to any media publication. He posted it on his smear campaign website. It doesn't matter. There is no way he would be permitted to continue running for president if those rumors were true. The powers that be are careful and by this point, they would already have a copy of his birth certificate.





I have no idea why people believe otherwise. Stuff like this is checked before it ever gets this far. It's people grasping for any reason and it's plain ignorant.
